Lyle Armstrong started his career in 1996 as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician for the United States Air Force. During his military career, he was deployed to numerous countries including Iraq and Afghanistan. Lyle has over 10 years of experience as a combat team leader, has rendered safe over 650 Improvised Explosive Devices, and safely disposed over 1 million pounds of military grade, commercial, and improvised explosives. Lyle has excelled as a classroom instructor with the Department of Homeland Security as well as provided top notch improvised explosive device training aids to numerous local, state, and federal entities. Most notably, Lyle provided Operation Urban Shield, the most massive training exercise in New England with over 50 agencies represented, with more than thirty realistic training aid exercises. Lyle Armstrong is a graduate of Naval School Explosive Ordnance Disposal, Advanced Access and Disablement, Advanced Improvised Explosive Devices School, the British Improvised Explosive Devices School, as well as the FBI, ATF and Combat Post Blast School. Additionally, Lyle Armstrong was awarded Bronze Star Medal in 2009 for the 2008 Deployment to Balad AB, Iraq where he led 128 combat missions as Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team Leader. Lyle led 9 EOD Teams as NCOIC of Combat EOD Operations at Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan from 2012 – 2013.
